New Month

Jesus, it's already September. Next month I'm off on a trip to Japan, so that's exciting. Aside from that, things have been going pretty well. Gundam Breaker 4 dropped and I've been making lots of horrific monstrosities. The diorama mode is super fun too, and I've been making lots of 0079 scenes in Jaburo. I've also been working on watching and reading more stuff in Japanese. I recently finished 'Ookami-chan of the small forest' which was immensely boring, but at a good level for practice. I'm also watching Cardcaptor Sakura, which is again a perfect level for practice. It's frustrating to be stuck with simpler media for now, but everyone starts somewhere.

Why did nobody tell me how expensive gardening is as a hobby? I've been working on a small triangle-shaped area of the garden. So far, it has probably cost me around 300 NZD. I needed garden edging, 100s of litres of bark, dozens of plants... FUCK!!!! And it's a tiny percent of the garden as a whole. As if I needed any more expensive hobbies.

Then again, it makes me feel immensely good to go to stores regularly. Returning to the garden centre is lovely, especially as I get to know the staff and the store cat. I've been trying to set up a routine at a local bakery, too. I tried their baguette this weekend and I'm totally sold; it's sooooo crunchy and delicious. It's honestly difficult to eat, but you know, in a good way. Gives you a jaw workout. So hopefully there are many more chewy baguettes in my future.
